On 8 and 9 February, RESERVIST partners gathered for the penultimate General Assembly of the project in Gijon, Spain.
Over the two days, we discussed the current status of the project and present the remaining activities, until the end of the project in May 2023. The meeting especially focused on the improvement in speed and reliability of the RESERVIST cells (including the different products such as face masks, ventilators,…) and how to continue implementing them after the end of the project and the EU funding.
Our partners continued to work on the efficiency of the RESERVIST cells: in Belgium, Deltrian can now produce masks and make them ready for shipping 90 minutes after having received the non-woven textile from Sioen; and in Spain, NormaGrup, ArcelorMittal and Idonial have fully automated a warehouse and are able to shift their production line in less than 10 hours after triggering the cell.
We also discussed further details regarding the final RESERVIST event that will take place in mid-May 2023. More information will be coming soon, so watch this space!
Finally, visits of RESERVIST partners Idonial, who hosted the meeting, and NormaGrup, based in Asturias region in Spain, were organised in order to learn more about the fabrication process of ventilators and facemasks.
The RESERVIST project aims to set up alternative lines called ‘reservist cells’, that can be activated within 48 hours, in order to switch easily from a day-to-day production line to one that focuses on products and services needed in time of crisis. More information about the project here.
